The Netherlands 

 

5/11/2018 

First day of the project in the Netherlands. They (Italian pupils) arrived in Hoogeveen at 8:30pm. We (my dad, Andrea and I) talked a lot about the trip. Introduced him to my mom, brother and dog. We showed him the house and together we went outside to let my dog out. Then we went to sleep. 

 

6/11/2018 

He has his own room, in the attic. He said he slept well. First, we had to cycle to school, it took us 30 minutes. Then he went to his Italian friends and I went to the Dutch group. The school director gave a little speech and then we all had to introduce ourselves. After that, we did a tour of the school. We even particitepted in a science class, awkward. The project continued by going to Hoogeveen Center. We did a quest, we had to complete the pictures because there were solid white blocks over the pictures. We also went to the mill and got a tour of the mill. Then we took a picture for the Hoogeveensche Courant.

 

7/11/2018  

Again, had to cycle to school, it now took us 20 minutes! Andrea is very friendly. We first did some things for the project, we had to pick a touristic attraction in and around Hoogeveen to find information about that attraction and later we went to Kamp Westerbork, there we first went to the museum and then to the camp itself. Kamp Westerbork was very interesting and sad. Andrea also found it a sad trip. 

 

8/11/2018 

We invented our own tourist attraction, we thought of a bicycle rent shop with a route; Hoogeveen Bikes is a bicycle renting shop that also can give you a nice road to bike. It is close to ‘Theehuys Anserdennen’.  We had to make a presentation for it because tomorrow we have to present it. 

We also went to Wildlands, I didn’t enjoy it because it was my fifth or sixth time. 

 

9/11/2018  

We had to present our tourist attraction, I was nervous. It went pretty well.  We went to the Bonte Wever too, I really liked that. 

 

10/11/2018 

On the program; Amsterdam. We, first, went to NEMO, did not like that, it was more for kids in my opinion. After, we did the same boat tour I did 2 months ago, hahaha. We had 1-and-a-half-hour spare time afterwards, I went to KFC and went to an electrical store 'de Mediamarkt'. We walked a lot because the KFC and de Mediamarkt where far away from each other. All the parents cooked something so that we could have a 'goodbye party'. 

 

11/11/2018 

THE END... We had to be at the train station at 11:45am and when we arrived, they left immediately. It’s always sad to say goodbye with the feeling that you will probably never see them again. Goodbye...
