Seville

5/3/2018

We met at school at 11:30 am, we left at 11:45 am, with our goodbyes of course.

We arrived at Schiphol Airport at 1:15pm, last goodbye to my dad who brought us.

At 2pm we finally went through the douane, that was my first time so I was a little bit stressed.

We walked around and bought some food for the trip, we had like an hour and a half before we took off. We had to wait a long time, but finally at 4:15pm we took off to Seville.

We landed at 7:38pm and we had to wait a long time for our luggage, that was also a brought some stress because what if it didn't arrive? The airport is very beautiful, old style and cool. We met our host family when we went through a kind of tunnel, it was very busy and some kids where gone without you noticed.  Then we went to a restaurant and I ordered Fanta lemon, they laughed about that because that is a Spanish thing. I didn't know, but apparently I also met some of the other participants from Italy and Greek. I, of course, was awkward but it was a nice experience, the family of my host family was there too and I got introduced to them, they are very friendly and wanted to know a lot, of course. Later on, I met his mom and brother, very nice people. I unpacked my bag and we all ate something.

Slept really well, woke up at 7am. Talked a lot to my host family yesterday evening. The road to school is very, very beautiful. It is old and with a lot of green, I really like the style of the houses. We had a meeting with the Dutch students and tutors the first hour at school, how everything went etcetera. After that we did games to get to know each other like making notes about what we liked. We also watched a movie of the school, the movie was really nice edited,  and we did a quiz about the Spanish tutors. The quiz was difficult because you needed to guess, we didn't know the tutors at all. We also did a game in the school by walking trough the school and find certain things. They wear a uniform at that school, what I have never seen before. We went to a class, history, too. They were very curious and all asked questions to us and took photos with us. I felt like a famous guy because they wouldn't let us out and with that I mean: they wouldn't (!) The class was over and we wanted to walk out but we just couldn't, we were stopped all the time, answered questions and took photos, it was very funny. Even in the breaks, they all went to us and made Snapchats etcetera with us. Then we had a dance lesson about a typical dance in Spain; the Flamingo, it was awkward, they asked us to come and join them but we all didn't want and I can't dance, I like the dance but it's really difficult to do, in my opinion.

We went to the center in our spare time, together with Mike, Estrella and Niels. I really liked that because it is a nice center, really beautiful and interesting and we had a lot of fun. The group is very nice.

New day! I'm very excited! I really like it here and my host family is fantastic! Very friendly mom and dad, the pupil (Antonio) is very friendly and his brother is very sweet. We all make jokes and laugh, and they are kind of the same as my family. I already knew that a little bit because Skype, my parents also already talked to them and made jokes and laughed with them. Of course, we went to school and did an evaluation about the last day. Then we worked a little bit on the project, and we went to cycle-> that was very fun, we cycled very fast and so the rest was always behind. Antonio also fell off his bike. We went to the other side of the city were we visited a beautiful bridge, stadium, park. We had to do some things in the park, then we went to a square were we had a break. All the Dutch students went to a grocery market and Mike ate a pepper there, that was really funny. We also had to find certain foods in the market, we didn't won. We cycled with a guide who told us all about the city, showed us things we normally wouldn't visit, and we made a lot of pictures.  The weather was fantastic too.  We went home at 4:46 pm, then we just chilled at home.

We went to the center by bus today. The busses are cheaper and different from the Dutch busses. We had a tour of the Cathedral, the Cathedral is really big and with a lot of cool things in it. There was a statue and they told us that maybe Columbus was inside that statue. We also went to the palace, that was beautiful. We also had to perform the dance Flamingo in the middle of the city, it was very awkward except for Hadees, he just filmed it. There were also a lot of TV cameras because people were marching for something. We had some spare time after dancing, we went shopping.

9/3/2018

We went on a safari by bus, close to a village (movie village, it looked like a village from the cowboy movies). We saw flamingos and lynxes. We also watched a movie there. We had some spare time, when we came back. It rained really hard and everyone stayed in the cafe except the Dutch students, we went on a look for a supermarket. Oscar told us that he knew where the supermarket was so we all followed Oscar. We had to walk a lot around because the water on the ground from the rain. We found a supermarket and we all bought something, then we went back. The whole trip to the supermarket was real fun. All the Greek, Spanish and Italian looked at us like we were crazy.

We began the day with working on the project. We were told to make a tourist attraction that was green for Seville. We did a presentation about our ‘tourist attraction’. Afterwards we had a diner, all the host parents made something typical Spanish or just food they eat a lot and we also played football where a fell ðŸ™‚.

11/3/2018

This was our spare day. I woke up at 7:45 am and I had to pack my back for tomorrow.

They had a surprise for me and I hoped that we went to Sevilla's stadium, and we did! There I met Mike, Estrella and Niels. We got a tour of the stadium and we were allowed to be on the pitch so of course we did! We did like there was a ball and scored of course with a bicycle kick. It was fantastic, we even saw Sevilla FC radio in action. In the evening I got a Sevilla shirt, that was amazing!!
